Hi and thanks for stopping by. First off I want to say how humbled I am that you’re on this page and reading my story. I hope you enjoy it.

My name is Ramon Hernandez and I am owner and operator of North Jersey Judo located in Pompton Plains, NJ. My club is dedicated to educating kids, teens and adults to the sport aspect and Martial Art of Judo. Judo has been an Olympic sport since the 1960s and was invented from four styles of Jujitsu by Jigaro Kano. As you can tell Judo has swallowed me up whole. I’ve surrendered my self to it a long time ago. But I’m not here to evangelize you to becoming Judokas.

As for the person I am, I’m probably no different then the rest of the Martial Artist out there in the world today. Operating my own dojo at night I had a full time job during the day as an operations manager at the top 5 travel management company in the US. I had over 25 people directly reporting to me when I got laid off.

After being laid off I continued to operate my dojo at night and taught daycare kids Judo during the day. The summer of 2009 I actually taught more then 50 kids Judo at daycares and summer camps alone. I learned how to turn my love for Judo and teach it outside of my dojo walls.

But what I’m most proud of is my family, the Judo I’m teaching to both of my boys, other families in and out of my dojo not to mention the freedom I have.

As for the operation of my Kindergarten Sensei Business Plan, I don’t have any staff working with me. It’s something that I can truly handle all by my self and reap the rewards. I’m truly living the lifestyle of a true Martial Artist which is my mission in life. Now I’m sharing it with you.

Bio

Ramon Hernandez started his Judo career in 1997 in his early 20s.  Ramon’s competition career spans from 1997 and continues today.  Included among the many medals he has won is a 2005 US Nationals Masters Championship.  This award meant the most after a year off from Judo in 2004 because of an ACL & MCL reconstruction knee surgery to his left knee.

Owner and Operator of North Jersey Judo since October of 2006 Ramon Hernandez not only teaches at daycares and afterschool programs in North Jersey but he also travels with Team North Jersey Judo to tournaments through out his region and also conducts seminars in and outside of his dojo.  His spare time is usually spent with his wife and 2 boys.
